Drive Tracker is a companion app for professional drivers who need to adhere to Swiss ARV2 laws and regulations.

Background:
ARV is the "Verordnung über Arbeits- und Ruhezeit der berufsmässigen Führer von leichten Personentransportfahrzeugen und schweren Personenwagen" - "Regulation on working hours and rest periods of professional drivers of light passenger transport vehicles and heavy passenger cars"
Keeping track of driving and rest time can be come complicated because of the number of rules that have to be applied to break/rest times.

Professional drivers are frequently checked by police. This app helps track driving and rest periods and it will help you stay within legal time limits.

The app has three states:
"Driving" - this is the time when you can be driving your vehicle
"Pause" - time during which you are not allowed to move any vehicle. In this mode the app monitors location and reminds the driver to switch to "Driving", if movement (over 10 km/h) has been detected.
"OUT" - "Out of Scope" this is a special pause mode used when the vehicle is not subject to ARV2. Such as before and after work. Movement detection is ignored.

ARV2 regulates a drivers driving time:
- Daily limit to 9 hours driving time.
- Limit to 4 1/2 hours without a break.

Calculating and tracking gets a bit complicated and this is where DriveTracker will help.

Breaks:
After 4 1/2 hours a 45 minute break is required.
If the driver starts a break before 4 1/2 hours of driving time, one half hour or two 20 minute breaks are sufficient.
After completing the 45-, 30- or 2x 20 minute break the driving time is reset to 4 1/2 hours, but no more than to 9 hours daily total

Rest:
Breaks longer than 1 hour are considered to be rest period. Of the most recent 24 hours at least 11 hours have to be rest time. Rest time can be split into max 3 portions where one period has to be at least 8 hours. If the rest time is split then 12 hours rest time are required.
